You should use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to relief symptoms.
Dexalgin® belongs to a class of medications called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It inhibits certain chemicals in the body that control inflammation and pain production, thereby, providing relief.
Dexalgin® is used to treat mild to moderate pain, such as:
- muscular pain (such as acute back pain, injury-related pain);
- tension-type headaches;
- menstrual pain;
- toothaches.
You must talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3-4 days.
If you forget a dose of Dexalgin®, do not take a double dose. Take the next regular dose when it is due.
Before starting treatment with Dexalgin®, tell your doctor if you have any other health problems, like kidney or liver-related issues. This is because certain medical conditions may affect your treatment and you may even need dose modifications. Let your doctor know about all the other medicines you are taking because they may affect or be affected by this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are planning for a baby if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Yes, the medicine can be taken even on an empty stomach.
Simultaneous administration with food delays the absorption rate of the drug, thus in case of
acute pain it is recommended that the medicine should be taken:
- 30 minutes before meals for Dexalgin® tablets;
- 15 minutes before meals for Dexalgin® sachets.
Dexalgin® granules in sachets can be taken without water.
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with this medicine due to the increased risk of serious side effects such as severe gastrointestinal bleeding, dizziness, fatigue, weakness etc.
Dexalgin® may cause undesirable effects such as dizziness, visual disturbances or drowsiness. The ability to react and the ability to take part actively in road traffic and to operate machines may be impaired in these cases.
